- What is this card points/miles thing all about? The concept is simple. We get credit cards which give us bonus points for spending a certain amount of money within a certain time frame. We get way more bonus points than most people who stick to their 1 or 2 points per dollar type credit card. It's how our families have traveled (internationally and domestically multiple times each year) for free.
- Why would I do card points/miles hacking? Because free travel. Der. But seriously, each time you meet the spending requirements of a credit card which offers thousands of bonus points/miles, you can easily get between $500 - $1,000 per card worth of free travel. So yea.... free travel. Der.
- Why would I use this site if I did do card points/miles hacking? Because if you do this seriously, you'll likely end up with a ton of cards. Tracking a bunch of cards, their spending requirements, timelines, not getting hit with annual fees, and making sure you are spending with the right card to maximize your points all takes organization, likely a crazy spreadsheet, and a lot of time. This site simplifies all that stuff into just a couple fields per card. Done. Then we send you updates to show you how you're progressing with your plan and how to adjust your spending habits if you need to.
- Seriously? Doesn't your credit take a hit for taking out that many cards? It does, kinda, but not for as long or as much as you'd think. For each application your credit profile takes a roughly 3 point hit. But by the time you meet the spend requirements it's usually as good (or sometimes better!) than it was. Don't forget the golden rule though... Never ever ever ever ever keep a balance. That is a road you don't want to go down. If you think you will end up doing that, don't play this game. It's truly not worth it.
