These quotes from Joe Biden shed light on the fact that he is a genuine person who cares about others. His words illuminate his ideas and can offer insight into what type of leadership he will bring to the table. He also speaks of his family often and offers a glimpse into his world. — Joe Biden to a man in a wheelchair bound state senator, Charles Graham. 32) “When the stock market crashed, Franklin D. Roosevelt got on the television and didn’t just talk about the, you know, the princes of greed.” — Joe Biden bungles the history of the Depression. Before Joe Biden and Kamala Harris were on the same presidential ticket, they were battling to win the Democratic primary and, in some instances, things got heated. It seems so quaint now, to look back on the 2008 and 2012 campaign seasons and remember the concerns people had, the worries over what gaffe was going to come out of a presidential running mate and then vice president Joe Biden's mouth.
(Last Updated On: December 6, 2020)As we march towards the end of 2020 and the beginning of 2021, Americans are also stumbling towards another momentous occasion. Love him, hate him, or you don’t really like him and just didn’t want to vote for the other guy, Joe Biden’s shaping up to be the next president. But before that the guy definitely had a political resume–notably serving as a Delaware senator from 1973-2009 and later as the vice president under the Obama administration from 2009-2017. If you do the math on his Senate work, that means Biden was reelected 6 times–breaking his streak because he was going to be vice president at the time.
For those who might not remember as far back as 2008, Biden tried to run for president. It didn’t go so well, as evidenced by the fact that he was, you know, not elected president for that term. But it did help bolster his reputation and solidify his place on the political map with a stronger appeal to the working-class voter. Biden also tried in 1988, doing a lot better than his 2008 campaign–he was actually considered quite promising. But that would end poorly after some speech plagiarism shenanigans and speaking in extreme hyperbole (IE false) in regards to his personal life.
Oh also fun (or unfun?) fact, Joe Biden and Barack Obama didn’t like each other for a really long time. Their present relationship is pretty complicated too.
Joe Biden Quotes
On Being American
“I know how deep and hard the opposing views are in our country on so many things. But I also know this as well. To make progress, we have to stop treating our opponents as enemies. We are not enemies. What brings us together as Americans is so much stronger than anything that can tear us apart.”
“It’s time to put away the harsh rhetoric. To lower the temperature. To see each other again. To listen to each other again.”
“I, too, believe there are natural rights that predate any written political or legal documents; we have these rights merely because we’re children of God.”
“For too long in this society, we have celebrated unrestrained individualism over common community.”
On Democracy & Government
“No one’s going to take our democracy away from us, not now, not ever. America’s come too far. America’s fought too many battles. America’s endured too much to ever let that happen.”
“It required a lot less energy, intelligence, and competence to run against government than to try to make government work.”
“No fundamental social change occurs merely because government acts. It’s because civil society, the conscience of a country, begins to rise up and demand change.”
“Our future cannot depend on the government alone. The ultimate solutions lie in the attitudes and the actions of the American people.”
On Life & Loss
“Most of all I was numb, but there were moments when the pain cut through like a shard of broken glass. I began to understand how despair led people to just cash it in; how suicide wasn’t just an option but a rational option.”
“My own father had always said the measure of a man wasn’t how many times or how hard he got knocked down, but how fast he got back up.”
“Sleep was like a phantom I was too tired to chase.”
“The greatest gift is the ability to forget — to forget the bad things and focus on the good.”
“Life is a matter of really tough choices.”
The 2020 Election
“My fellow Americans, the people of this nation have spoken. They have delivered us a clear victory. A convincing victory. A victory for “We the People.””
“I pledge to be a President who seeks not to divide, but to unify. Who doesn’t see Red and Blue states, but a United States.”
“I’ve long talked about the battle for the soul of America. We must restore the soul of America.”
“The effects of climate change are real and must be acted on.”
On the Presidency
“The presidency itself is not a partisan institution. It’s the one office in this nation that represents everyone and it demands a duty of care for all Americans.”
The Gaffes
“We hold these truths to be self-evident. All men and women created… by the — you know — you know, the thing.”
“When seagull droppings landed on my head at a campaign event at Bowers Beach two days before Election Day, I chose to read it as a sign of a coming success.”

Former President Barack Obama is set to speak tonight at the Democratic National Convention. His former vice president has been officially crowned the 2020 nominee for president for the Democratic Party. It’s a more muted event, as the convention has gone virtual during the coronavirus outbreak in the United States. It’s been a bizarre spectacle, to say the least. And yes, Joe has forgotten who is and where he was at times.

— Tom Elliott (@tomselliott) August 19, 2020It’s all about bashing Trump. We all knew this was going to be in the cards. Trump has been blamed for COVID, the job losses that resulted from it, because how dare we blame China and a host of other things. The Democrats are crybabies and I really wouldn’t be touting their COVID plan, as Andrew Cuomo has shown that explicitly, which involved killing a lot of old people by forcing nursing homes to accept COVID-positive patients.
Biden Racist Quotes
Yet, there has also been Biden bashing—and it’s from Barack Obama. The 44th president of the United States may have been all smiles in front of the cameras, but behind the scenes, the former president has been rather brutal regarding his running mate, always prepared to accept the fact that Joe screwed up in some fashion.
“Don't underestimate Joe's ability to f**k things up,” said Obama. He also reportedly told him “You don’t have to do this, Joe, you really don’t” regarding a possible 2020 bid. When the former VP threw his hat in the ring, Obama’s team was apparently very stern with the Biden crew, ensuring that the vice president didn’t embarrass himself or tarnish the Obama legacy with his antics (via CBS 19):
Mr. Obama was also said to have spoken about his own understanding of the 2020 Democrat electorate in Iowa.
'And you know who really doesn’t have it? Joe Biden,' he reportedly said.
Apparently, there were lingering tensions between the two after Mr. Obama supported Hillary Clinton for the 2016 nomination, according to Yahoo.
Az Quotes Joe Biden
Leon Panetta, Mr. Obama’s defense secretary, told Politico: 'He [Mr Biden] was loyal, I think, to Obama in every way in terms of defending and standing by him, even probably when he disagreed with what Obama was doing.
'To some extent, [he] oftentimes felt that that loyalty was not being rewarded.”
Several of Mr Obama's aides were said to have believed that Mr. Biden took discussions in the wrong direction while vice president.
In his book Ben Rhodes, Obama’s former deputy national security adviser, penned, 'in the Situation Room, Biden could be something of an unguided missile”.
Yikes.
